Morehead State University announced updated plans for the spring semester and winter terms in an email Monday September 21, 2020.
The spring semester will start January 19 to give students a 14-day period to isolate in order to provide a healthy start. There will be four different types of classes that individuals can choose from including face-to-face, hybrid, 100% online and shorter eight-week sections.
“For maximum flexibility in the Spring Semester, and to allow each student to select the best option for their individual circumstance, we are planning to offer a combination of class delivery,” said the Office of the President in an email.
The spring semester will run from January 19 through May 7, with two academic breaks on February 17 and March 30.
Spring break has been canceled and finals week is May 3-7.
The spring move-in dates and procedures have not yet been announced.
Winter term one will consist of entirely online classes and will run from December 14 to January 8. Winter term two runs from December 3 to January 8 and will also host 100% online classes.
However, some classes may require in-person lecture, lab or studio times during the week of January 4, 2021. Students enrolled in this term may move back to their residence halls on Sunday January 3.
Enrollment for both terms and the spring semester is November 4, 2020.
The tentative commencement date is May 8.
