Renowned french horn soloist Ronald Beitel paid a visit to Morehead State to perform a concert and conduct a master class for fellow musicians.
Beitel is a horn soloist, chamber music artist and horn class clinician. His music career of 29 years had taken him all around the country both as a soloist and with other musicians. Associate professor of music at MSU, Dr. L. Curtis Hammond, created this event for students to experience Beitel’s musical performance as well as learn from a musician who has had great success in playing horn on many levels throughout the country.
“Ron is a world-class musician who has performed with some of the greatest musicians in the United States,” said Hammond.
Beitel has given solo performances with The Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, the Vivaldi by Candlelight Orchestra in Salt Lake City and many others. He has worked with other musicians for performances such as the Nova and Intermezzo series in Utah and Manhattan, and the Mountains at Snow College and Southern Utah University. His musical talents have earned him the opportunity to tour with The Cleveland Orchestra and The Houston Symphony. Since he has become a resident in Rochester Minnesota, he has focused mainly on composing horn music and giving private lessons.
Students enjoyed the performance and were able to expand their knowledge on music through the workshop he hosted afterwards.
