In general, people want to make the world a better place, but who has the time to recycle while juggling work, school and trying to have some sort of social life? However, there are some simple things you can do daily or weekly to help keep the environment clean:

  • One super easy way to cut down on pollution is to carpool with your roommates. You all need groceries, so why not make one trip instead of 4?
  • Another simple task is to get a water filter for your room and a travel mug instead of buying water bottles that will only end up in a landfill. You could even split the cost of a filter with your roommates! If you do end up with a plastic bottle, try to make an effort to throw it in the recycling bins located around campus.
  • It is also easy to save on electricity by turning off the lights when you leave your dorm. You don’t need that desk lamp on all the time!

These are just a few ways to help reduce pollution and improve the environment. Get creative - see how little trash you can make for a week or try to walk or cycle around town instead of driving! With simple steps, everyone can help make the world a better place.
