Morehead State University was recognized as a bronze-level Military Friendly School for 2019-2020.

For over a decade, Military Friendly ratings from Viqtory Media have recognized outstanding schools that demonstrate strong investments in serving military and veteran students. Being named as one of these schools means that MSU has excelled at helping veterans and military students transition from the military to college.

Each year, Viqtory Media publishes the Military Friendly ratings for schools and employers. The ratings measure an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating opportunities for the military community, including active military and veterans. These ratings help prospective students find the best fit for them.

“it’s important to be recognized as a military friendly school,” said David Litteral, the director of Military Initiatives at MSU. “That way, we can attract to our programs a variety of veterans who have already been out in the world.”

Military Friendly designations are determined by data evaluation. Public data sources, surveys from veterans and a school survey that potential candidates must fill out before they can be considered.

Litteral credited the help of the staff and community for helping welcome veterans into the college community.

“We have a staff and faculty dedicated to making sure our military and military-connected students successful," said Litteral.
