The Student Government Association passed a bill to give money to a family in need and discussed a partnership beginning this weekend with Morehead Cinemas 6.

The bill stated that they will give the family $250 from their philanthropy budget of $650 to pay for new items that the family recently lost in a fire.

“So it looks like the bill is to move $250 from the philanthropy budget in order to give those to those kids,” said SGA president Colby Birkes. “The way that will work is we will cut them a check and I will take that to the school.”

Birkes also discussed a formerly passed partnership to allow students to see movies at Morehead Cinemas 6 for $3 on Fridays beginning this Friday, November 8.

Other discussions at the meeting included:

- The SGA tabled a bill changing their constitution that would bar certain positions in their organization from holding other positions in the student court. The bill will be discussed in its entirety at a later meeting.

- Frank Green was appointed Freshman Representative after the position was left open by a resignation.

- Midterm printing was above budget by $80. It was decided to allow the extra money to be spent.

- The first 50 students in the student section at the November 7 basketball game will receive a wristband for free popcorn and pizza after half time.
